The Heritage in Wake Forest

Developer, Andy Ammons, tells stories of his favorite childhood memories with one common theme  – the great outdoors.  Whether camping, fishing or hunting; the Ammons family was always celebrating nature.  So, it is appropriate that Andy’s most ambitious pursuit would involve a project marked by creation of opportunities to make the natural setting a focal point of enjoyment for those who would make Heritage their home.

In the mid-1980s, Andy’s father, Jud Ammons, purchased a beautiful tract of Wake Forest farmland that would ultimately become known as Heritage.  Homeowners, businesses, conveniences and amenities would unite and form the sole of a community where life would incorporate many facets of the Ammons memories.

The Heritage is just close enough to Raleigh and the opportunity-rich Triangle, yet just distant enough to ensure families a generous amount of what the country and good southern living offer.  Twice in its first ten years, Heritage was voted North Carolina’s Master Planned Community of the Year.

Trees beautify the vistas and provide numerous cherished spots of shade under the North Carolina sun. A magnificent golf course forms the centerpiece of the community with a soccer field, schools and a swimming pool pulling up the flanks.  A second swimming pool complex, miles of walking trails, parks, playgrounds and a fishing pond supplement the beautiful backdrop and outdoor amenities.
